Everyday utility
For decades, the Land Cruiser has earned a reputation in the Philippines as a dependable vehicle for challenging terrain, long-distance travel, and demanding work conditions. With the new FJ, Toyota aims to bring that same DNA to customers seeking a vehicle that is equally at home on city streets and weekend adventures.
The SUV adopts styling cues from classic Land Cruiser models, including an upright silhouette, squared-off body panels, short overhangs, and a rear-mounted spare tire that emphasize its utilitarian roots. Its compact dimensions, however, make it easier to navigate urban roads and tighter parking spaces.
Measuring 4,610 millimeters long and 1,855 millimeters wide, the Land Cruiser FJ rides on a 2,580-mm wheelbase and offers 245 mm of ground clearance. The TX variant stands 1,890 mm tall, while the VX reaches 1,950 mm.
Proven capability
Both the TX and VX variants are powered by Toyota's 2.7-liter 2TR-FE naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 166 horsepower and 245 Newton-meters of torque.
The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system. Under normal driving conditions, the vehicle operates in rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive engaged when additional traction is required on rough or slippery terrain.
Toyota retained the ladder-frame chassis that has become synonymous with the Land Cruiser nameplate. Combined with a double-wishbone front suspension and four-link rear suspension, the platform is designed to deliver both structural rigidity and ride comfort.
Both variants also come equipped with the Active Traction Control System (A-TRC), which helps improve stability and grip across varying road conditions.
Inside, Toyota adopted a driver-focused cabin with durable materials, intuitive controls, and modern infotainment features intended to support both daily commuting and outdoor activities.
Two variants
Toyota is offering the Land Cruiser FJ in two variants to appeal to different customer needs.
The 2.7L TX A/T, positioned as the entry model, features 17-inch steel wheels, LED lighting, a 9-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, synthetic leather seats with manual adjustment, and physical controls, including a lever-type parking brake and rotary selector for four-wheel-drive modes.
The 2.7L VX A/T builds on the TX with additional comfort and technology features. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, leather shift knob, and a Panoramic View Monitor.
The VX also includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which adds advanced driver assistance technologies such as the Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.
