Maya Bank, WeFund Set P2.75-B Loan Facility for Underserved Filipinos, Promote Responsible Borrowing

Philippine digital financial institution Maya Bank and Wefund Lending Corporation, through Lightning Financing Company, have established a P2.75 billion loan facility to expand financial services for underserved communities.

In a statement, Maya said this collaboration will provide immediate capital access to more creditworthy Filipinos and will promote responsible borrowing, fostering financial empowerment.

Maya and WeFund's partnership aims to bridge the economic divide and promote financial independence for underserved communities, the firm said.

As one of the pioneers in digital financial services, Maya Bank said it is committed to transforming the economic landscape for Filipino consumers and MSMEs through innovative offerings like savings and deposits.

The loan channeling initiative with WeFund extends Maya Bank's mission to increase credit accessibility for unbanked populations in the Philippines, the firm explained.
