From January to November 2025, the company laid 92.59 kilometers of new water pipelines, increasing the network from 5,563.64 kilometers at the start of the year, Manila Water said in a statement.
The continued expansion supports the growing needs of communities served by Manila Water, which now account for more than 7.8 million people across the concession area.
Strengthening system capacity
The build-out of pipelines has strengthened overall system capacity and reinforced service reliability across all service areas.
Manila Water said network growth plays a critical role in ensuring a stable water supply, improving pressure conditions, and supporting the expansion of new service connections as demand continues to rise.
Investments in distribution infrastructure also help manage system losses and improve operational efficiency, particularly in rapidly developing areas within the East Zone.
Wastewater network also expands
Alongside the expansion of its water distribution system, Manila Water continues to scale up its wastewater infrastructure to improve sanitation coverage and protect the environment.
As of October 2025, total sewer mains reached 490.61 kilometers, up from 482.36 kilometers in January. This translates to 8.25 kilometers of new sewer lines added year-to-date.
The company said the expansion improves wastewater collection efficiency, supports the growing number of sewered connections, and contributes to the protection of waterways and public health.
Sustained infrastructure investments
Network growth remains central to Manila Water’s efforts to ensure stable and uninterrupted service across the East Zone.
Continued investments in both water and sewer infrastructure are designed to support rising demand, enhance system resilience, and ensure long-term service sustainability. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
