Globe Telecom is taking a major step in advancing the nation’s digital security through its Application Programming Interface (API) ecosystem.

Following its GSMA certification on Number Verification API earlier this year, Globe is spearheading the Philippines’ shift toward next-generation authentication — a vital move to protect customers from online threats.

Traditional One-Time Passwords (OTPs), once the mainstay of digital verification, have become increasingly vulnerable to phishing and social engineering scams.

Globe’s proactive response aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) mandate to strengthen authentication frameworks across the financial sector — ensuring that Filipinos can transact with greater safety and confidence.

Empowering the financial sector

Through Globe Business, the company’s enterprise arm, Globe is leading efforts to help banks and financial institutions adopt API-based authentication systems.

These next-generation tools improve customer protection, reduce fraud risks, and promote the security standards essential to a resilient digital economy.

“Our commitment is rooted in nation-building. Globe provides the vital network infrastructure and drives next-generation authentication through APIs nationwide, ensuring digital assurance and ongoing innovation,” said Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz.

Through a series of roadshows and ongoing collaborations with financial institutions, Globe Business is fostering an ecosystem where technology and trust evolve together.

Expanding API innovation through Concati

Beyond enterprise applications, Globe is broadening API accessibility through Concati, its emerging marketplace for developers. The platform connects regional developers, mobile network operators, and API publishers, enabling seamless, secure integration for businesses across Southeast Asia.

“We are unlocking the true value of the API economy through Concati,” said Vince Yamat, 917Ventures managing director and CEO.

“By creating a standardized, single point of access, we drastically accelerate time-to-market, allowing developers to focus on innovation instead of complex integration.”

This API-driven approach supports faster innovation cycles and ensures that even smaller enterprises can access scalable and secure authentication solutions.

Operational excellence through M360

Complementing these innovations is M360, Globe’s Communication Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) business, which plays a key role in API aggregation and delivery.

“Operational excellence is the foundation of digital trust,” said Ramon Hirang, M360 CEO.

“Our focus is delivering certified security and authentication services that our customers can rely on to scale secure, intelligent, and rich customer experiences.”

Defining the future of digital trust

Through Globe Business, Concati, and M360, Globe is building a multi-party framework that cements its leadership in digital transformation.
