DTI rolls out P2-B loan program for e-transport shift

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its financing arm Small Business Corp. (SBCorp), has launched a P2-billion loan program to help transport operators and drivers shift to electric vehicles.

The initiative aims to support small, licensed transport operators and drivers looking to modernize their fleets amid the push for cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.

Under the program, qualified borrowers may access loans of up to P1.5 million per vehicle, with a maximum loanable amount of P3 million per borrower, the DTI said in a statement.

Loans are payable over five years and come with a grace period of up to one year on both principal and interest, giving borrowers time to stabilize operations before repayment begins.

Applications will open on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Interested applicants may apply online by downloading the SBCorp Money app on their mobile devices and selecting the E-Transport Loan option.

The DTI encouraged interested parties to visit the SBCorp website or coordinate with DTI offices and Negosyo Centers nationwide for more details on eligibility and requirements. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
