The new corporate headquarters, located in the Bagong Nayong Pilipino complex in Pasay City, is a key milestone for the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), which has operated from rented spaces for decades.
Under a 25-year lease agreement, SMC will fully finance and construct the facility at no cost to Pagcor, while also paying monthly rent for a 13-hectare property to support its airport infrastructure projects.
“SMC only commissioned the best architects and construction firms to ensure the project’s completion by 2028,” Ramon S. Ang, chair and CEO of SMC, said in a joint statement.
Designed by JSLA Architects and built by New Golden City Builders, the corporate center will span 40,000 square meters, with an additional 15,000 square meters allocated for commercial leasing.
Pagcor chairman Alejandro Tengco highlighted that leasing out commercial spaces within the center will help cover maintenance costs, ensuring financial sustainability.
“Since Pagcor will not occupy all 40,000 square meters, we plan to lease some of the commercial spaces to generate rental income,” Tengco said. “These rental earnings should be enough to cover the building’s maintenance costs.”
“We are truly blessed to witness this historic moment as we lay the groundwork for a vision that reflects our identity, core values and aspirations as an organization,” he added.
