PLDT’s improved score reflects significant progress in sustainability initiatives, such as the integration of climate action, nature preservation, and circularity into its business operations.

Key milestones contributing to this achievement include stakeholder consultations, the enactment of a comprehensive human rights policy, and enhanced frameworks for due diligence and risk management. PLDT also strengthened its ESG-related collaborations to address emerging issues and align with global best practices.

In the same statement, Melissa Vergel de Dios, PLDT’ first vice president and chief sustainability officer, emphasized the company’s dedication to embedding sustainability in its operations.

“These milestones motivate us to push further in driving meaningful change and creating positive value towards a more connected, sustainable, and digitally inclusive future for Filipinos,” she said.

An active member of the United Nations Global Compact, PLDT aligns with global principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

The company has also maintained its inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index for six consecutive years and achieved top ranking in the telecommunications and technology sector in the Global Child Forum 2024 corporate sector and children’s rights benchmark report.

As of Nov. 18, 2024, PLDT holds the highest CSA score among Philippine corporates whose 2024 results have been disclosed, highlighting its leadership in sustainability. --Ed: CSN
