The collaboration brings together the country's leading providers of digital connectivity, power distribution, and solar energy solutions in what the companies described as a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to address the evolving needs of modern households.
The partnership comes as more Filipinos rely on digital services for work, education, entertainment, and business while also facing rising electricity costs.
Company officials said in a statement the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering practical solutions that combine reliable internet connectivity with sustainable energy options, helping households manage energy consumption while staying connected.
“One of the priorities that I have set across our organizations is to work together to create innovations that deliver greater value and meaningful impact for Filipinos,” said PLDT and Meralco chair and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan.
“This partnership between PLDT Home, Meralco, and MSpectrum reflects that commitment by bringing together connectivity and energy solutions that can help improve everyday life while contributing to a more sustainable future for our communities and our nation,” he added.
Shared vision
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of the MVP Group to maximize synergies among its companies and create greater value for customers through integrated services.
According to the companies, the partnership seeks to address the growing demand for smart-home solutions by combining connectivity services with clean energy technologies.
PLDT SVP and head of consumer business John Y. Palanca said the company’s role extends beyond providing internet access.
“At PLDT Home, our mission goes beyond providing reliable connectivity. We are helping shape the future of the Filipino home—one that is smarter, more connected, and more efficient,” Palanca said.
He added that collaboration within the MVP Group enables the companies to develop more meaningful and innovative solutions than they could individually.
Meralco EVP and COO Ronnie L. Aperocho said the partnership highlights the companies’ responsibility to support communities through sustainable development.
“Together with PLDT and MSpectrum, we carry the obligation to deliver a future where homes are smarter, energy is cleaner, and communities are stronger,” he said.
Solar benefits
Under the partnership, PLDT Home subscribers will gain access to exclusive offers from MSpectrum, Meralco’s solar solutions provider.
These include customized solar energy packages, flexible payment options, and end-to-end support covering system design, permitting, installation, maintenance, and after-sales services.
MSpectrum’s residential solar solutions feature solar panels, inverters, and battery systems tailored to a household’s roof size, energy consumption patterns, and long-term energy requirements.
The companies said the integrated approach is expected to help families reduce electricity costs while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
Future ready
Industry observers note that demand for smart-home technologies continues to grow as households seek greater control over energy consumption without compromising access to essential digital services.
By combining expertise in connectivity, power distribution, and renewable energy, PLDT Home, Meralco, and MSpectrum aim to help Filipino families create homes that are more connected, energy-efficient, and prepared for future needs.
The companies said the partnership underscores their shared commitment to improving the quality of life of Filipinos through innovation, sustainability, and accessible technology solutions that support modern living. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
