Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy highlighted the achievement, attributing it to the government’s commitment to digital transformation.
“This milestone underscores our dedication to making government services more accessible, transparent, and participatory for every Filipino,” he said in a statement.
Central to this success is the DICT’s flagship initiative, the eGov Super App, a comprehensive platform integrating national and local government services. From business registration to tourism information, the app consolidates a wide range of functionalities, streamlining access for users through single sign-on and API integration.
DICT Undersecretary David Almirol emphasized the app’s transformative potential.
“The eGov Super App aggregates existing systems, ensuring seamless access while maintaining compatibility with current agency systems,” he said.
Collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, and Bureau of Immigration has further enhanced the app. Integrating the Philippine eVisa Portal into the platform simplifies visa application processes, making the Philippines more accessible to tourists.
The country’s rise in the EPI coincides with an improvement in the UN’s E-Government Development Index (EGDI), where the Philippines now ranks 73rd, up from 89th in 2022. Achieving an EGDI score of 0.7621—above the global average of 0.6382—the country demonstrated advancements in online services, telecommunication connectivity, and human capacity.
The eGovPH Super App’s features continue to expand, offering services like health consultations through eKonsulta, unified travel declarations, and resume-building tools for job seekers. Partnerships with agencies such as the Department of Health and the Department of Labor and Employment are driving further innovation.
Almirol revealed plans to incorporate AI bots, citizen reporting modules, and startup support into the app, reinforcing its mission to simplify government interactions.
“Our vision is to empower Filipinos with a citizen-centric solution that simplifies their interactions with the government,” he said.
Through its partnerships with over 50 government agencies and ongoing innovations, the DICT’s goal is to sustain the Philippines’ position as a leader in digital governance, fostering accessibility, transparency, and efficiency, it said.
