The camp, led by Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) and world-class gymnast Carlos Yulo, aimed to empower and inspire 30 young gymnasts aged 7-16 from Metro Manila, Davao, and Cebu.
The event, part of Toyota’s global “Start Your Impossible” program, showcased Yulo’s advocacy for youth development and food security.
Assisting Yulo was his coaching team, led by GAP coach Aldrin Castañeda, and sports nutritionist Jeanette Aro, who guided the participants through three intensive training sessions and a nutritional lecture.
“Under Toyota's Start Your Impossible campaign, I recognize my responsibility as a dual hero— not only to compete and win but to uplift and mentor the next generation of athletes,” shared Yulo. “This gymnastics clinic we’re embarking on, along with a nutritional lecture, is a big step towards this mission,” he added.
TMP president Masando Hashimoto congratulated the participants, emphasizing that learning directly from the Philippines’ best gymnast is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Camp attendees, including young gymnasts Caila, Ysa, and Eauline, described the event as a dream come true.
“We learned so much from Carlos, and this will be helpful for us when we have competitions coming up,” Ysa shared. “We dream of going to international competitions and represent the Philippines just like he did,” Caila added.
Toyota and Yulo’s collaborative effort reinforces their commitment to empowering the youth, setting the stage for future champions.
