The event marked Globe’s 50-year evolution from a conventional telecom provider to a diversified digital services company, reflecting broader changes in how Filipinos communicate and access technology.
Half a century of leadership
“Globe’s listing in 1975 was more than a financial milestone, it was a statement of belief. A belief that through responsible and sustainable enterprise, we could help move the country forward and upward,” Ayala chair Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala said during the ceremonies.
“Over the years, that belief has taken shape in many forms, in stronger connections, in better access, even in new opportunities made possible for every Filipino,” he added.
A future built on inclusion
Globe president and CEO Carl Raymond Cruz said the milestone was a tribute to generations of customers, employees, and partners who have been part of the company’s history.
“Globe is here as a partner for the country’s digital future. Not just through technology, but through trust and its people. This is what ‘Go Forward Together’ means to us. We succeed when we move forward as one and make sure that we leave no one behind,” Cruz said.
He also thanked the PSE, the Securities and Exchange Commission, shareholders, and regulators for their long-standing ties with the company.
Charting the next 50 years
Globe said it will use digital tools to broaden access to services, regardless of geography or income.
Its programs will focus on promoting responsible online use and giving communities the skills to navigate the digital space safely. The company sees its 50th anniversary as a point to take stock of its progress and set priorities for the next phase of growth.
