MPower drives Allegro’s transition to 100% renewable energy ahead of target

MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), and Allegro Microsystems Philippines Inc. have renewed their partnership, enabling the semiconductor firm to transition fully to renewable energy ahead of its 2030 target.

Under a new Retail Electricity Supply Agreement, Allegro’s manufacturing site in Parañaque City will now be powered by 100 percent renewable energy sourced from MPower. 

The partnership, now in its 12th year, marks a milestone in Allegro’s journey toward sustainable semiconductor manufacturing.

Ronald Dela Rosa, senior director – controller of Allegro, expressed gratitude to MPower for the long-standing collaboration. “Together, we’ve weathered periods of both stability and disruption with unwavering alignment and mutual trust. MPower has enabled us to achieve our five-year sustainability target early, accelerating our timeline,” he said. 

MPower first vice president Redel M. Domingo highlighted the success of the alliance. “MPower’s provision of 100 percent renewable energy has enabled Allegro to realize its 2030 sustainability target at its manufacturing sites ahead of schedule.
