Insider Spotlight
For many patients, the cost of healthcare is not just about consultation fees but also the time and multiple steps required to get treatment. Long wait times, referrals, and fragmented services often add to overall expenses.
Maxicare Clinics aim to address this by bringing care closer to patients through walk-in access and integrated services. The clinics are located across Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—so care is close and convenient.
How it works
Members and PRIMA cardholders can easily access labs, tests, and specialist consults in one place, with no need for a letter of authorization (LOA).
Instead of navigating multiple providers, members can directly consult physicians across specialties such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB-Gynecology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Clinics also offer laboratory and diagnostic procedures, allowing patients to complete consultations and tests in one location, reducing repeat visits and added costs.
What they’re saying
“The measure of a healthcare network is about how many people actually walk through that consultation door,” Josephine Lopez, president and CEO of Maxicare Health Services Inc., said in a press statement on May 4. 2026.
“Every Maxicare Clinic we open brings that door closer to anyone who needs it. As the Maxicare Clinic network grows, so does our commitment to making that step easier because earlier consultations save lives. That is what our clinics were built for,” Lopez added.
The big picture
Maxicare’s expansion reflects a broader push to address affordability and accessibility challenges in Philippine healthcare.
By simplifying access and consolidating services, the company is positioning its clinics as a cost-efficient entry point for early diagnosis and treatment—an approach that could help Filipinos better manage healthcare expenses while improving outcomes. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
