From Oct. 24, 2024 to July 28, 2026, the loan facility helped government workers access formal credit while reducing their reliance on informal and high-interest lenders.
Affordable credit
The program supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to expand access to affordable financial services for Filipinos.
Originally launched as Ginhawa Lite, the facility was relaunched as Ginhawa Go in February 2026 to strengthen financial assistance for government employees.
Finance Secretary Frederick Go led the relaunch on Feb. 19, 2026, describing the program as an important safeguard against abusive lending practices.
"This program protects employees from abusive lending processes," Go said.
Quick access
Under Ginhawa Go, qualified GSIS members may borrow from P1,000 to P50,000 at 6-percent interest rate, with repayment terms ranging from 30 days to 24 months depending on the loan amount.
Applications are submitted through the GSIS Touch mobile application, with approved loan proceeds credited directly to the borrower's account.
The program also includes Loan Redemption Insurance, which settles any outstanding loan balance in the event of the borrower's death, protecting beneficiaries from financial liability.
"Ginhawa Go answers a basic need for our members: quick, dignified access to credit that will not push them toward informal lenders," GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said.
Eligible members may check their qualifications and submit applications through the GSIS Touch mobile app or at any GSIS branch nationwide.
For more information, members may visit the GSIS website, contact the GSIS Contact Center, or access the agency's official social media channels. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
