Green GSM has launched its all-electric taxi service in Davao City—its first expansion beyond Metro Manila—as part of its long-term push for cleaner, safer, and more efficient urban mobility in major Philippine cities.

Davao’s reputation for public order, environmental stewardship, and community-centered governance has made it a natural testbed for modern mobility technologies.

The city’s rising population, growing economic activity, and increasing daily travel demand have heightened the need for transport solutions that balance reliability with sustainability.

Driving the news

Local officials and business leaders attended the launch, including LTFRB Davao Regional Director Nonito Llanos. Their presence signaled institutional support for integrating electric mobility into the region’s transport landscape.

Davao has steadily pursued cleaner air and livability initiatives in recent years. These efforts complement Green GSM’s push for a well-managed, low-emission transport model anchored on its 5 Green Promises: Good Experience, Good Drivers, Good Cars, Good Pricing, and Good for the Environment.

State of play

The company said in a press release it will operate exclusively with all-electric VinFast vehicles that produce zero tailpipe emissions, employ full-time professional drivers trained for courteous and predictable service, and maintain transparent pricing through its app.

The operating philosophy aims to achieve quieter streets, improved air quality, and more dependable commutes.
