  • Tanduay is tapping demand for easier cocktail preparation through Jamaica Mixer’s flavor-release cap
  • The mixer is positioned for casual home drinking and gatherings, reducing the steps needed to prepare flavored rum cocktails
  • Three variants pair with different Tanduay rums, with each bottle priced at P60

Tanduay is seeking to make cocktail preparation more convenient for consumers by giving them a way to mix flavored drinks fresh without requiring a more elaborate home-bar setup.

The rum brand has introduced Jamaica Mixer, a bottled mixer with a “mix-up cap” that stores syrup or concentrate separately and releases it into the drink when the cap is twisted or pressed. The format is designed to complement Tanduay 5 Years, Tanduay Light and Tanduay Select.

Memorable consumer experience

The product reflects an effort by Tanduay to extend the drinking occasion beyond straight rum and simple mixed drinks, while making cocktails more accessible for casual occasions at home or social gatherings.

“At Tanduay, we are always looking for ways to make our consumers’ drinking experience more memorable. Whether it’s a laid-back night at home or a spontaneous gathering at a friend’s house, they can easily enjoy fresh cocktails with an interactive twist. They’re perfect for any occasion,” Tanduay digital brand manager Edzel Ty said in a press statement.

Made with natural flavors

Jamaica Mixer comes in apple, citrus ginger and lime variants, all made with natural flavors.

The apple variant has a sweet, fruity character and light aroma and is paired with Tanduay 5 Years, whose smoky sugar and oak notes provide a richer base.

Citrus ginger combines sweetness with a ginger kick and is paired with Tanduay Light, which the company describes as having light, fruity and mild woody notes.

The lime variant has a sweet, citrus profile and is positioned as a pairing for the 60-proof Tanduay Select.

Humble roots

Tanduay started out as a distillery in Hagonoy, Bulacan, a province in the island of Luzon known for its heroes and craftsmen.

Since 1988, Tanduay has been part of the Lucio Tan Group of Companies and continues to use traditional rum-distilling practices.
