The big picture
The mall operator is leaning into experiential offerings as foot traffic drivers, positioning health and community engagement as core pillars rather than add-ons. The move reflects a broader shift in retail toward lifestyle ecosystems that extend dwell time and deepen customer loyalty.
“We’ve always envisioned our malls as more than just buildings; we want them to be places where you truly feel at home while pursuing a better version of yourself,” Raymond del Rosario, president of Fisher Mall Group of Companies, said in a press statement.
“By opening our doors to these diverse programs, we’re creating a sanctuary where every neighbor can find their own path to wellness in a space that feels familiar and welcoming,” Del Rosario added.
What’s happening
Structured martial arts programs anchor the initiative, with A.L. Taekwondo and Arena Fitness Dojo offer guided training environments in Quezon Avenue, while similar taekwondo sessions extend to Malabon. These programs emphasize discipline, mentorship, and community-building alongside physical fitness.
Meanwhile, accessible group activities broaden appeal. Free Zumba sessions in both locations provide high-energy entry points for casual participants, while a collaboration with Ballet Manila introduces formal dance training to local audiences.
Why it matters
Retailers are increasingly competing on experience rather than pure commerce. By embedding wellness into its tenant and programming mix, Fisher Mall is creating repeat visitation loops tied to routine activities, not just transactions.
What they’re saying
“At Fisher Mall, we view our spaces as platforms for growth and connection,” said del Rosario. “Our goal is to ensure that wellness is always just around the corner. We want every visitor to walk through our doors and feel truly at home while they pursue a healthier, more active lifestyle. By collaborating with organizations who are truly community-driven, we aren’t just hosting events. We are building a healthier future together,” he added.
Bottom line
