Insider Spotlight

  • Epson is banking on lower operating costs to support SMEs and home offices
  • New EcoTank models emphasize durability, mobile workflows and compact design
  • The company is responding to sustained demand for high-volume, low-cost printing

Businesses and home offices are increasingly prioritizing lower operating costs and higher productivity, prompting printer manufacturers to focus on long-term value instead of upfront pricing.

Epson Philippines is positioning its latest EcoTank printers around that shift, betting that businesses and households will continue seeking affordable, high-volume printing solutions as hybrid work and entrepreneurship remain widespread.

Why it matters

Epson has introduced eight next-generation EcoTank printer models in the Philippines, expanding its portfolio with devices designed to improve printing efficiency through higher page yields, faster performance and simplified maintenance. The company said the new lineup builds on more than 100 million EcoTank printers sold globally.

The details

The new models include the L1310, L1350, L3310, L3316, L3350, L3356 and L5390. Selected variants support Epson Smart Panel for mobile scanning and copying, while AirPrint compatibility enables wireless printing from supported devices. The L5390 also features an automatic document feeder for multi-page tasks.

Each printer uses 65ml CMYK ink bottles capable of producing up to 4,700 black-and-white pages and 7,500 color pages before replacement, according to the company. Epson also said the printers are designed to print up to 50,000 pages under warranty and include replaceable maintenance boxes to reduce downtime.

Between the lines

Epson is also highlighting sustainability alongside affordability. The new printers incorporate the company's Heat-Free Technology, which lowers power consumption, while redesigned integrated ink tanks reduce the machines' footprint by up to 20 percent compared with previous models.

The printers also feature color-coded refill systems intended to minimize ink spills and maintenance requirements.

What they're saying

“Epson remains committed to delivering high-quality, efficient printing solutions that empower customers in their daily operations,” Epson Philippines head of marketing Noelle Gonzalez said in a press statement.

“With the next generation of EcoTank Printer series, we have combined faster performance, enhanced durability and intuitive features to boost productivity in today's competitive economy, helping businesses stay agile and sustainable. Home workspaces, set up for success and high growth, can also unlock new levels of productivity with our printing solutions, designed for cost and time efficiency,” she added.
