The signing of the latest Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) took place at the office of the DTI Secretary in Makati City.
This milestone reinforces the agency’s dedication to fostering innovation through its flagship initiative, the Malikhaing Pinoy Program—a platform designed to nurture homegrown talent and position the Philippines as a creative powerhouse on the world stage.
Key initiatives under the MOU
“This partnership affirms our commitment to harnessing creativity and technology as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable growth,” said Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque. “Collaborating with industry leaders like Globaltronics opens more avenues for Filipino creatives to innovate, compete, and thrive in the global digital economy.”
The MOU was formalized through DTI’s Creative Industries Development Office (CIDO), aligning with the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda to advance innovation-driven and inclusive growth.
Key initiatives under the renewed agreement include the National Digital Arts Awards (NDAA) and the upcoming relaunch of the Malikhaing Pinoy Program, scheduled for September 2025.
Talent incubation initiatives
Globaltronics, a leading digital out-of-home (DOOH) media company in the Philippines, will provide platforms to enhance the visibility of Filipino creatives across events, public installations, and cultural showcases both locally and internationally.
“This MOU gives us a renewed purpose to use our platforms to empower Filipino creatives,” said Globaltronics CEO William T. Guido. “Together with the DTI, we are committed to illuminating the future of Philippine digital artistry.”
The collaboration also aims to drive policy advocacy, develop creative hubs, and champion inclusive innovation. As part of its commitment to the broader creative ecosystem, Globaltronics will support product development and nurture emerging talent through dedicated incubation initiatives.
The agreement reflects a broader push by the DTI to position Filipino creatives as key players in global digital content and cultural industries, aiming to integrate design, media, and technology with economic growth strategies. — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
