BPI Foundation honors top small enterprises, expands SEAL program

Bank of the Philippine Islands, through its social development arm, BPI Foundation (BPIF), in collaboration with Bayan Academy, recently celebrated the achievements of 40 small enterprises and 20 nano enterprises as top performers in this year’s Small Enterprise Acceleration Lab (SEAL) program.

Launched in 2022, the SEAL Project Series was designed to support and empower micro and nano enterprises as well as aspiring entrepreneurs. By providing hands-on guidance and strategic interventions, SEAL has become a cornerstone for small business owners aiming to scale and sustain their operations.

This past year, SEAL's Small Enterprise Growth Agenda (SEAL-SEGA) helped more than 200 entrepreneurs enhance their business foundations. Through comprehensive training in product development, operations, and marketing, SEAL-SEGA equipped participants with not only skills but also tailored solutions to address unique challenges.

The program awarded top-performing enterprises cash grants between  P80,000 and P120,000, along with expert mentorship to fuel their growth.

Additionally, BPIF introduced a new track called the SEAL-Business Education and Growth Initiative for Nano-entrepreneurs (SEAL-Begin). This track focused on supporting aspiring entrepreneurs with fundamental training and resources, specifically designed to leverage digital-age opportunities.

SEAL-Begin saw over 240 registrants, with 20 nano-enterprises recognized for their potential and innovative ideas.

“We have witnessed the entrepreneurs’ determination through the program, and we’re excited to see how they will scale their businesses in the future. It has been an honor to be part of their journey,” said Carmina Marquez, BPIF executive director.

“BPI Foundation is committed to empowering small enterprises, and we believe that with the right support, these entrepreneurs can significantly contribute to economic growth and financial inclusion,” she added.

Since its inception, SEAL has disbursed significant cash grants and provided training and mentorship, fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem across the Philippines.
