Insider Spotlight

  • AMBS secures a licensing agreement with ABS-CBN to carry Kapamilya Channel
  • Kapamilya Channel programming airs on ALLTV starting January 2, 2026
  • Move follows TV5’s termination of its content agreement with ABS-CBN
  • ALLTV expands entertainment slate with flagship ABS-CBN shows

Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS), the owner and operator of free-to-air network ALLTV, has signed a licensing agreement with ABS-CBN that will allow the Kapamilya Channel to air on ALLTV beginning Jan.  2, 2026.

The partnership gives ALLTV viewers access to a wide range of ABS-CBN programs, including top-rating and long-running shows such as FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, What Lies Beneath, It’s Showtime, ASAP, and TV Patrol, among others. The deal marks a major expansion of ALLTV’s programming lineup as it seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive broadcast landscape.

Why it matters

The agreement reshapes the free-to-air television ecosystem following TV5’s decision to terminate its content agreement with ABS-CBN effective January 2, 2026. With the shift, ALLTV becomes a new broadcast platform for the Kapamilya Channel, giving ABS-CBN another avenue to reach mass audiences nationwide.

Between the lines

Prime ABS-CBN programs will continue to be available on A2Z. Meanwhile, select shows remain on GMA, including It’s Showtime and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab 2.0, underscoring ABS-CBN’s multi-platform distribution strategy even without its own free-to-air franchise.

What they’re saying

ABS-CBN confirmed it has settled its obligations with TV5 and Mediaquest in line with existing agreements and expressed gratitude to Manny V. Pangilinan and TV5 for hosting several Kapamilya programs since 2021.

Zoom in

AMBS and ABS-CBN are not new partners. Since 2024, ALLTV has been carrying selected ABS-CBN content, including classic and iconic Kapamilya shows under the Jeepney TV brand, as well as current programs like It’s Showtime and TV Patrol.

The new licensing deal significantly deepens that collaboration by bringing the full Kapamilya Channel block to ALLTV.

The big picture

For AMBS, the move bolsters ALLTV’s appeal to advertisers and viewers by associating the network with established, high-engagement content. For ABS-CBN, the deal ensures continued reach on free television as it navigates partnerships across multiple broadcasters.

What’s next

Starting Jan.  2, 2026, ALLTV audiences can expect a refreshed lineup anchored by ABS-CBN’s entertainment and news offerings. Both companies say they remain committed to serving Filipino viewers by delivering stories, news, and entertainment that bring love, joy, and hope to families nationwide. – Princess Daisy C.
