From April 13 to 15, NAIA recorded 433,478 passengers—up from 387,188 during the same stretch in 2024. Palm Sunday alone saw 150,511 travelers, compared to 134,660 last year.
Based on current trends, NAIA’s operator, New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC), projects more than 1.18 million passengers will pass through during the eight-day period ending Easter Sunday—14 percent higher than in 2024.
Despite the surge, airport operations have remained smooth, according to NNIC.
Additional immigration officers were deployed across all terminals, including new counters for overseas Filipino workers at Terminal 3.
Traffic personnel were also assigned outside the terminals to manage the heavy vehicular flow. NNIC set up assistance booths staffed by airport, medical, and security personnel to help travelers throughout the week.
While one online report cited lighter crowds at Terminal 3 on Holy Tuesday, NNIC clarified this was during non-peak hours and didn’t reflect full-day trends.
Officials, including DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, inspected the terminal early Tuesday and reported fully manned counters and steady passenger flow, reinforcing the effectiveness of the Holy Week measures.
