The notice of award was issued by the Department of Transportation and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines on Sept. 30, 2024, with the concession agreement expected to be signed by late October.
This P12.75-billion project includes renovating and expanding the airport’s terminal, upgrading equipment, and improving both airside and landside facilities.
The concession will last for 30 years, boosting AIC’s presence in the Mindanao aviation sector.
Management’s view
“We are excited to take on revitalizing Laguindingan Airport and collaborating with stakeholders to create a world-class facility that serves the travelers and the community alike, ” Cosette V. Canilao, AIC president and CEO, said in a statement on Thursday.
“This deal marks another major step in our airports platform, and we remain optimistic as we pursue further opportunities with other regional airports. Together with the government, we are committed to making this vision a reality,” Canilao added.
