SM Supermalls continues to champion Filipino talent, putting the spotlight on acclaimed visual artists including Anna Vergel RS, whose works are now proudly displayed at the company’s corporate headquarters in the SM Mall of Asia Complex and featured on its corporate website.

As part of its long-standing commitment to support the growth and careers of local artists, SM Supermalls has been integrating Philippine art into its corporate spaces, bringing creativity closer to the public and honoring the country’s rich artistic heritage.

Supporting homegrown talent

Vergel RS joins the roster of Filipino artists whose works have been curated by SM Prime Holdings, reflecting the group’s broader mission to promote art and culture alongside business development, the artist’s camp said in a press release.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts and a proud Iskolar ng Bayan, Vergel RS is known for her distinct visual style that merges modern sensibilities with traditional storytelling.

Her pieces often depict themes of mythology, transformation, and femininity—expressing both strength and reinvention, “on canvas and in life,” as described by SM Supermalls.

Art meets corporate culture

The initiative underscores SM’s belief that art plays a vital role in community building and nation branding. By opening its corporate spaces to Filipino artists, the company bridges the worlds of commerce and culture, giving the public access to art beyond traditional galleries.

“I am deeply humbled that the SM Group, especially SM Prime Holdings executive committee chair Hans Sy, have included my works in their website for greater appreciation of the public,” Vergel RS said.

Through partnerships and exhibitions such as this, SM Supermalls continues to cultivate appreciation for Filipino artistry while providing platforms for emerging and established creators alike. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
