The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered fintech said SkyroCredit is now available to all eligible customers, allowing users to shop through any merchant that accepts QR Ph and pay later with zero percent interest for up to 45 days.
The company said the platform has gained traction for routine purchases, with customers using the service at fast-food chains, supermarkets, pharmacies, and fuel stations.
Top partner merchants include Jollibee, McDonald's, DALI Supermarket, SM, Mercury Drug, Watsons, Petron, Shell, and Caltex.
Why it matters
The expansion underscores the growing role of digital credit in day-to-day consumer spending as Filipinos seek greater financial flexibility amid rising living costs.
By linking credit to QR Ph, Skyro is also broadening access to formal financial services through the country's digital payments ecosystem.
Skyro reported more than 93,000 transactions at Jollibee, 45,000 at DALI Supermarket, 32,000 at Mercury Drug, and over 33,000 combined transactions across Petron, Shell, and Caltex.
The company said these figures show consumers are increasingly relying on digital credit for recurring expenses rather than discretionary purchases.
“Our goal with SkyroCredit is to give more Filipinos easier access to flexible credit, especially at a time when everyday expenses continue to rise and financial priorities continue to evolve,” Skyro co-founder and co-CEO Nasim Aliev said in a press statement.
The details
Customers receive starting credit limits ranging from P1,000 to P10,000, with the potential to increase their available credit to as much as P100,000 through responsible use.
SkyroCredit also offers 1 percent cashback for every P100 spent, with rewards redeemable through the Skyro app once cashback reaches P100. Customers may repay either in full or through installment-style minimum payments.
“We believe SkyroCredit is one of the best credit line options in the market today. With up to 45 days of 0 percent interest and 1 percent instant cashback on every transaction, it combines flexibility and rewards to deliver real value to customers. We're proud to bring these benefits to more Filipinos as we continue expanding across the country,” Skyro head of marketing Iya Lelyanova said.
Eligible Filipinos aged 18 and above can apply through the Skyro app, the company's website, or participating retail partners using one government-issued ID, a smartphone, and an active Philippine mobile number.
Skyro said the broader rollout supports its goal of expanding access to formal credit while encouraging responsible borrowing habits. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
