SEAOIL, Grab eye wider rollout of fuel relief program

SEAOIL announced on Monday that its strategic fuel discount partnership with Grab and MOVE IT generated P2.6 million in direct savings for TNVS drivers and motorcycle taxi and delivery riders from March to April 2026.

The company said the milestone highlights the effectiveness of the program in helping transport workers cope with fluctuating global oil prices and rising operational costs.

The partnership utilizes SEAOIL’s PriceLOCQ app, which provides Grab and MOVE IT partners with digital fuel management tools and exclusive discounts.

Through special campaigns, drivers and riders were able to access fuel discounts of as much as P8.73 per liter.

In a statement, Grab Philippines said the initiative combines SEAOIL’s “Kabalikat Mo sa Hanapbuhay” campaign with the Grab and MOVE IT Bayanihan Fuel Crisis Support Program, bringing together various efforts aimed at cushioning the impact of higher fuel prices on transport and delivery workers.

From March to April alone, Grab said it mobilized about P350 million for the support program through commission rebates, incentives, spot bonuses, and other assistance initiatives for partners.

Supporting transport workers

SEAOIL CFO and president for retail business Mark Yu said the company remains committed to helping transport and delivery professionals who continue to provide essential mobility and logistics services nationwide.

“We understand that transport and delivery professionals are the ones keeping commuters and goods moving every day,” Yu said.

“By giving them tools to lock in fuel prices and access significant discounts, we are not only helping them save money at the pump but also helping secure their livelihood,” he added.

GrabCar Philippines general manager Gines Barot said the partnership aims to reduce operational costs for drivers and create meaningful financial relief for transport workers.

Digital fuel management

The program currently operates through two key digital features within the PriceLOCQ app.

The Top-Up Liter Balance feature allows drivers and riders to purchase fuel at current prices for future use, helping them protect themselves from sudden fuel price hikes.

Meanwhile, LOCQPay offers a scan-to-pay option that provides instant discounts at participating SEAOIL stations.

According to SEAOIL, the strong adoption of these digital tools reflects the growing role of technology in fuel management and transport support programs.

Expansion planned

MOVE IT general manager Wayne Jacinto said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to providing practical assistance to rider-partners.

“By helping riders reduce their fuel expenses, we are helping protect their daily earnings while sustaining the essential mobility services they provide to Filipino commuters every day,” Jacinto said.

SEAOIL said the partnership is expected to expand further in the coming months, with more exclusive “Super Sale” events already being planned to provide deeper discounts and additional financial relief to thousands of Grab and MOVE IT partners nationwide. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
