Tycoon Enrique Razon Jr.’s Manila Water Co. Inc. secured a ₱10-billion, 10-year term loan facility from China Banking Corp. to fund its ongoing capital expenditure projects.

This financing deal aligns with the company’s plans to invest 105 billion from 2022 to 2027 in water and wastewater initiatives.

Key projects from 2023 to 2027 include the Pinugay Septage Treatment Plant, Hinulugang Taktak Sewerage System, and multiple sewerage systems across San Mateo, Rodriguez, Quezon City, and Mandaluyong, its latest annual report showed.

Once completed, these projects will significantly expand Manila Water’s sewer service coverage. The company is also on track to enhance and maximize the availability of sewerage services in the East Zone of Metro Manila.
