Driving the news:
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), signed a registration agreement with Aromate PH during an investment promotion mission in Taipei from Aug. 25 to 30, 2025.
The deal formalizes Aromate’s expansion at the LIMA Technology Center, Batangas, following the start of its Philippine operations in 2024.
The new facility will serve as a regional hub for air care product manufacturing.
The project is expected to generate jobs and strengthen the Philippines’ position as a competitive investment site for Taiwanese firms.
What they’re saying:
“This is a significant development as we continue to welcome more Taiwan companies setting up operations in the Philippines, generating opportunities for both local and international markets,” said PEZA Director General Tereso Panga.
Anthony B. Rivera, Trade Representative and Director for Commercial Affairs at PTIC-Taipei, added that Aromate would “bring more opportunities not only in product manufacturing but also in research and development for innovative fragrance and air care products.”
Meanwhile, MECO Chair Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil affirmed government support: “MECO fully supports companies like Aromate as they expand to the Philippines. We are committed to making it easier to do business and to fostering stronger industrial partnerships between the Philippines and Taiwan.”
Between the lines:
PTIC-Taipei, the DTI’s official trade and investment promotion arm in Taiwan, continues to spearhead partnerships that bridge Philippine industries with Taiwanese innovation. The move highlights Manila’s strategy to deepen cross-strait industrial collaboration and tap into Southeast Asia’s rising consumer demand.
