Insider Spotlight

  • Microinsurance products target household helpers, drivers, guards, teachers, and farmers
  • Plans focus on affordability, simple access, and practical coverage
  • Palawan Group pushes inclusive protection through branches and digital platforms

Palawan ProtekTODO, the microinsurance arm of the Palawan Group of Companies, is strengthening its push for financial inclusion by launching new insurance plans designed to make protection more accessible and affordable for everyday Filipino workers.

The new offerings are aimed squarely at workers often overlooked by traditional insurers, including household helpers, drivers, security guards, teachers, and farmers.

By tailoring coverage to their real risks and budgets, Palawan ProtekTODO is positioning insurance as a basic safeguard rather than a luxury.

Why it matters

Many Filipino workers still rely on informal savings to prepare for emergencies, leaving families vulnerable to sudden accidents or health costs.

Palawan ProtekTODO’s latest plans are designed to address that gap by offering practical benefits at prices aligned with daily earnings, lowering a long-standing barrier to insurance uptake.

What’s included

The new plans provide coverage such as accidental medical reimbursement, accidental death and disablement benefits, and annual health check-ups.

These features are bundled into straightforward products meant to be easy to understand and easy to access, even for first-time policyholders.

“Many still think that insurance is only for the wealthy,” Lisa Lou Castro-Sabado, chief business development officer of Palawan Group, said in a press release on Jan. 8, 2026.

“(Obtaining) insurance used to be costly, complicated, and burdened with tedious requirements. With ProtekTODO, we are changing that by making insurance affordable, accessible, and hassle-free. Our plans give everyday workers the protection they deserve,” said Castro-Sabado.

“Household helpers, drivers, security guards, teachers, and farmers dedicate their lives to supporting others and now, they can finally have insurance that truly supports them,” she added.

The bigger picture

Everyday workers play a critical role in keeping households, communities, and the broader economy running.

Household helpers and drivers support families beyond their own, guards protect communities, teachers shape future generations, and farmers sustain the country’s food supply. Despite this, many remain uninsured due to cost and complexity, a gap Palawan ProtekTODO aims to close.

How it works

The insurance products are available through PalawanPay, Lazada, and Palawan Pawnshop–Palawan Express Pera Padala branches nationwide, blending physical reach with digital convenience.

This bricktech approach allows workers to access coverage whether they prefer in-branch transactions or app-based services.

What’s next

By offering insurance na tingi-tingi ang presyo, pero todo ang benepisyo (affordable pricing, maximum benefits), Palawan ProtekTODO is reframing protection as an everyday necessity.
