The extension of the Light Rail Transit Line 1, operated by Metro Pacific Investments and Ayala Corp., is set to begin partial operations before the end of the year, with its first phase nearing completion at 98.2 percent.

Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista announced that the Redemptorist, MIA, Asia World, Ninoy Aquino, and Dr. Santos stations will be operational by this deadline.

This new extension will offer commuters a more affordable and convenient travel option, connecting seamlessly to other transport hubs.

Once fully operational, the 11.7-kilometer extension will cut travel time from Baclaran to Bacoor to just 25 minutes and boost daily ridership from 500,000 to 800,000 passengers.
