The on-demand delivery and ride-hailing platform has launched its latest Deliver Care initiative, "Moves that Bring You Home," in partnership with Save the Children Philippines and Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines to help transport essential supplies while enabling customers to contribute to relief efforts through LalaPoints donations.
Logistics support
For many non-government organizations, collecting donated goods and transporting bulky materials remain major operational challenges because of high delivery costs and complex coordination requirements.
These constraints often delay relief operations, renovation projects, and the distribution of essential supplies.
Lalamove said its Deliver Care initiative addresses these gaps by providing delivery solutions for humanitarian work, including house-moving assistance, transport of donations, relief goods, medical supplies, and construction materials needed for community projects.
Through partnerships with Save the Children Philippines and Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines, the company aims to strengthen the delivery of food, medicines, and other basic necessities to communities affected by disasters and emergencies across the country.
Rewards giving
The initiative also extends to Lalamove users through the company's rewards program.
Customers who register as Lalamove Rewards members can donate accumulated LalaPoints earned from completed deliveries to either Save the Children Philippines or Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines.
Every 450 LalaPoints is equivalent to a P20 donation, while 950 LalaPoints translates to P50, with the proceeds supporting the organizations' humanitarian and relief operations.
"We believe our responsibility extends beyond logistics. Through our partnership with Save the Children Philippines and Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines, we'll be able to deliver meaningful support to vulnerable communities and help create lasting social impact," Lalamove Philippines managing director Djon Nacario said in a statement.
"With this campaign, we also get to utilize our rewards program to allow our users to directly donate to vulnerable communities," he added.
Community impact
Save the Children Philippines welcomed the partnership, saying it demonstrates how collaboration between the private sector and humanitarian organizations can create meaningful change.
"This partnership reflects what's possible when purpose meets action. Together, we can create real impact in children's lives," said Riel Andaluz, partnerships and philanthropy lead of Save the Children Philippines.
Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines said donations through LalaPoints will help support recovery efforts for thousands of Mindanao residents affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake earlier this month.
"We are humbled and grateful to Lalamove for choosing the Tzu Chi Foundation as one of the recipients of its members' LalaPoints," said Mine Heart Tantoy, head of Tzu Chi Philippines' charity department, noting that the organization has long relied on Lalamove to transport medicines, rice, and other assistance to beneficiaries.
Lalamove said the initiative reflects its vision of empowering local communities by showing how everyday deliveries can help generate lasting social impact. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
