The agreement, signed March 5 with Mayor Benjamin Magalong, opens opportunities for qualified seniors and persons with disabilities to work across 12 participating stores under Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King.
Hires will take on customer-facing roles such as serving orders, preparing drinks, managing tables, and handling guest relations.
Why it matters
For a labor-intensive industry like food service, tapping seniors and PWDs offers a dual advantage—addressing workforce needs while advancing inclusion in a tangible, operational way.
Since launching in 2019, the program has generated more than 1,000 jobs nationwide. Expansion resumed in 2023 after a pandemic pause, with momentum building quickly—451 seniors and PWDs were hired in 2025 alone.
The company disclosed the latest Baguio partnership as part of its ongoing expansion, noting this is from a company release as it deepens collaboration with local governments.
The big picture
Jollibee’s model highlights how private sector and LGU partnerships are becoming a scalable pathway for inclusive employment across the Philippines.
The initiative now spans multiple cities including Manila, Antipolo, Pasay, Pasig, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Quezon City, Cagayan de Oro, Cabuyao, and Davao, alongside several municipalities in Rizal.
It also supports the company’s “Joy for Tomorrow” agenda, particularly its People Pillar focused on building inclusive and diverse workplaces.
