Under the program, qualified GSIS members can borrow up to P60,000, payable in three years, with a low 6 percent annual interest and no service fee. Applications are processed exclusively via the GSIS Touch mobile app, ensuring a fast, paperless, and hassle-free experience.
Once approved by the authorized agency officer, the proceeds are credited directly to the member’s GSIS ATM account within one to three banking days, the GSIS said in a press statement.
Empowering members in the digital age
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said the new loan program supports members’ need for essential gadgets amid hybrid work and learning setups.
The program not only helps members purchase computers, tablets, or mobile phones, but also encourages them to adopt GSIS digital services available through the GSIS Touch app, where they can apply for loans, check records, update information, and manage benefits conveniently.
Building on earlier success
The Digital Ginhawa Loan builds on the success of the GSIS Computer Loan Program launched in 2020, which benefited over 355,000 members and released P10.67 billion in assistance.
To qualify, members must be active in service with a permanent appointment, have no pending administrative or criminal cases, and no defaulted GSIS loans (except housing or computer loans).
The loan also includes Loan Redemption Insurance, ensuring that the balance is fully paid in case of the borrower’s death during the term.
GSIS encourages members to seize this opportunity to stay connected, productive, and future-ready in the digital era. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
