The partnership, sealed through a memorandum of agreement (MOA), will allow Globe to deliver enterprise-grade fiber services to more than 150 locators and over 80,000 employees based in FPIP, supporting faster data transmission, real-time collaboration, and more efficient, data-driven operations.
Digital infra reliability
FPIP hosts a range of global and local manufacturers, including companies in consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, and medical devices—industries that rely heavily on reliable digital infrastructure to maintain productivity and competitiveness.
“This partnership strengthens Globe’s commitment to delivering world-class, fiber-fast connectivity to businesses across the Philippines,” said Michelle Y. Ora, Globe’s vice president for strategic partnerships and program.
“We are proud to empower FPIP locators with seamless, secure, and high-speed digital tools that enable innovation, enhance productivity, and position them to compete confidently in the global market.”
A key enabler of the rollout is FPIP’s shared dark fiber facility, which was established in 2023. The facility allows Globe to deploy services more quickly and cost-effectively by maximizing existing infrastructure, while giving locators more options to meet their connectivity requirements.
Upgrade to meet evolving business needs
FPIP assistant vice president for the park and utilities group Jason de las Alas said the partnership aligns with the industrial park’s efforts to continually upgrade its digital infrastructure in response to evolving business needs.
“As one of the leading internet service providers in the Philippines, we are confident that Globe can elevate the experience of our locators by providing high-quality and secure internet connection, which is a must in today’s fast-paced and data-driven environment,” de las Alas said.
Established in 1996, FPIP is a PEZA-registered special economic zone developed by Lopez-led First Philippine Holdings Corp. and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp. Covering nearly 600 hectares, the industrial park is home to over 150 manufacturing firms serving both domestic and export markets.
The contract signing was attended by executives from Globe and FPIP, marking a milestone that strengthens FPIP’s digital backbone as it supports continued expansion and future-ready industrial operations. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
