Insider Spotlight
The Philippines’ largest third-party logistics provider will hold the FAST Truckers Roadshow Bacolod on May 13 at L’Fisher Hotel and the FAST Truckers Roadshow Cebu on May 18 at Castle Peak Hotel to introduce programs designed to help truckers secure more stable income streams.
Admission to both events is free and open to the public.
Why it matters
Truck operators nationwide are facing mounting operational pressures from higher fuel prices, tighter margins, and increasing day-to-day expenses.
FAST said its programs are designed to help truckers reduce exposure to fluctuating operating costs while gaining access to more consistent earnings opportunities.
What FAST is offering
One of the company’s key offerings is its dry lease program, which allows truck owners to lease their vehicles to FAST in exchange for fixed monthly income.
Under the arrangement, FAST handles operational management and expenses, including fuel, driver and helper salaries, toll fees, repairs, and maintenance.
The company is also promoting its lock-in program for truck owners who prefer to operate their own vehicles. Accredited partners are assured of fixed monthly income even if trucks complete fewer trips than expected during a given month.
Truckers who complete additional trips may earn beyond the guaranteed amount.
FAST also offers a fuel savings program in which the company shoulders upfront fuel expenses and deducts the amount after completed trips, helping improve truckers’ cash flow management.
Big picture
The logistics provider said members of its trucking network may also access financing opportunities to acquire additional units and expand operations despite challenging market conditions.
FAST currently has strong demand for 10-wheeler and 6-wheeler trucks, refrigerated trucks, AUVs, container trucks, and flatbed trucks.
“FAST believes truckers are vital partners in moving businesses and communities forward,” FAST CEO for Logistics Manuel L. Onrejas Jr., said in a press statement.
“Through our support programs, we want to help truckers manage rising costs and grow their business with FAST serving as their ‘Big Brother’ partner in logistics,” he added.
FAST currently supports more than 900 trucking partners nationwide and operates one of the country’s largest logistics and warehousing networks. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
