The event, held on July 29 to July 30, aimed to bring essential government services closer to Filipinos through a one-stop shop format.
Held at the Midtown Atrium of Robinsons Manila, the caravan featured 10 major GOCCs including PhilHealth, Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System, Pag-IBIG Fund, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp., Land Bank, and Development Bank of the Philippines.
The event was formally opened by Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto and attended by top executives from participating agencies.
With the theme “Serbisyo sa Bayan, Hatid ng GOCCs, Kaakbay ang DOF,” the caravan served as a direct service delivery platform where the public could process claims, inquire about memberships, apply for loans, and attend financial literacy sessions.
“We want citizens to feel that the government is not just in offices or faraway agencies, but present, proactive, and committed to serve,” said DOF Undersecretary Rolando G. Tungpalan, who leads the Corporate Sector and Strategic Infrastructure Group (CSSIG).
Business-minded individuals and MSMEs also received guidance on loan applications from the Small Business Corp., while NDC and BCDA promoted flagship investment projects. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
