BPI’s VYBE expands ECPay partnership to boost e-wallet cash-in access nationwide

VYBE, the e-wallet platform backed by the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), is deepening its collaboration with Electronic Commerce Payments Inc. (ECPay) to make digital financial services more accessible to Filipinos across the country.

As part of this enhanced partnership, VYBE users can now top up their wallets at any of ECPay’s 1,300 kiosks nationwide with zero convenience fees.

In the coming months, cash-in services will also be rolled out to over 4,000 ECPay partner outlets, including supermarkets, gasoline stations, pawnshops, and sari-sari stores, significantly broadening VYBE’s reach across urban and rural areas.

The expansion supports VYBE’s goal of offering a free, secure, and user-friendly financial tool, even to users who do not hold a BPI account.

With ECPay’s extensive retail network, more Filipinos—particularly those in unbanked and underbanked communities—can now conveniently access digital financial services and participate in the growing digital economy.

“Our expanded partnership with ECPay is a significant step in making VYBE more accessible to Filipinos nationwide,” said Eric Faustino, head of digital partnerships and ecosystems at BPI.

“We are excited to offer users an easy and convenient way to top up their e-wallets and engage with the digital financial ecosystem, helping to drive financial inclusion in the Philippines,” Faustino said.

This move aligns with BPI’s broader strategy to deepen its digital ecosystem and support the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) financial inclusion agenda.

By tapping ECPay’s nationwide network, VYBE is helping close the gap between traditional banking and modern digital finance, offering a viable solution for those who may have limited access to formal financial institutions.

The initiative is expected to strengthen VYBE’s market presence while empowering more Filipinos to manage their finances digitally—paving the way for broader participation in the country’s digital transformation. — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
