Insider Spotlight
Unveiled at Gastech 2026, the Advanced Liquefaction Architecture, or ALA, draws on more than 60 years of the company's LNG experience and over 15 years of offshore experience. Black & Veatch said the approach can help clients increase LNG production by as much as 15 percent.
Reduce energy consumption
ALA combines the company's PRICO liquefaction technology with facility integration, project execution and BVInfraIQ.LNG, the first application under its BVInfraIQ infrastructure intelligence platform.
BVInfraIQ.LNG converts real-time operational data into actionable intelligence and prioritized recommendations designed to increase throughput, improve reliability, reduce energy consumption and maximize asset value.
Flexible, scalable liquefaction
Asia-Pacific imported about 168.7 million tonnes of LNG in 2025 and remained the world's largest LNG destination under the regional classification cited by Black & Veatch.
The company sees demand for flexible and scalable liquefaction solutions growing across the region, supported by established offshore engineering capabilities in Singapore and South Korea and emerging LNG import markets in Southeast Asia.
“LNG performance is no longer defined by liquefaction technology alone, but by how effectively process technology, facility integration and digital intelligence work together to maximize performance,” Black & Veatch Fuels & Natural Resources president Narsingh Chaudhary said in a press statement.
AI-augmented toolset
"With more than fifteen years of unparalleled design, construction and operational experience in FLNG, our Advanced Liquefaction Architecture now includes an AI-augmented toolset to help our clients remain competitive and resilient while improving vessel efficiencies,” Chaudhary said.
ALA also incorporates patented PRICO enhancements, waste-heat recovery and steam systems, upstream pre-treatment improvements and project development expertise.
Black & Veatch said its PRICO technology has been deployed across more than half of the world's FLNG facilities operating or under construction, giving ALA an installed foundation for further efficiency and throughput improvements. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
