Local support strengthened
INAEC brings more than 30 years of experience in helicopter operations and maintenance, having worked with Bell aircraft since 1993.
In its early years, the company supported critical missions using the Bell 206 JetRanger, including aerial news coverage for ABS-CBN and offshore transport for oil and gas companies operating in Philippine waters.
In 2015, INAEC expanded its Bell capabilities to include the operation and maintenance of the larger, higher-performance Bell 429 helicopter. Since then, the company has provided maintenance services for Bell 429 aircraft owned by private individuals and general aviation operators nationwide.
Approval completed
Following the successful completion of Bell’s due diligence and qualification review, INAEC was officially approved as an Approved Maintenance Center in December 2025.
“Bell values the Philippines as a stable and consistent market for our helicopters, and it is essential that our customers have access to reliable, high-quality local support,” said Chris Schaefer, Bell vice president for global customer solutions, in a press statement.
He said INAEC’s extensive experience gives Bell confidence that it will uphold the company’s standards while strengthening its support network for local operators.
Aviation industry potential
INAEC president Benjamin “Jay” R. Lopez said the appointment highlights the broader growth potential of the Philippine aviation industry beyond air transport.
“The Philippines has the technical capability and specialized skills required to operate and maintain modern aircraft,” Lopez said. “As a Bell 429 AMC, INAEC is well positioned to deliver reliable, high-standard maintenance services for Bell operators across the country.”
Asia-Pacific network
The appointment makes INAEC the seventh Bell Approved Maintenance Center in the Asia-Pacific region, adding to Bell’s global network of more than 50 authorized service centers.
Bell currently supports more than 1,600 helicopters across Asia, including about 70 aircraft operating in the Philippines, 15 of which are Bell 429 helicopters. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
