Organized by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), the event will be held on Nov 25 to 27, 2024.
It will bring together leaders and representatives from social security institutions throughout Southeast Asia to discuss regional challenges, emerging trends, and collaborative approaches for more resilient social security networks.
Role of technology
This year’s agenda emphasizes the transformative role of technology and innovative approaches to address industry mega-trends, reinforcing the region's commitment to creating a comprehensive, inclusive social protection system.
GSIS President and ASSA vice chair Jose Arnulfo Veloso highlighted the significance of the event, stating, "As the Asean continues to grow as a vital region for economic progress, it is our privilege to host this significant conference alongside SSS and PhilSSA members.”
“This event represents a unique opportunity to showcase our leadership in shaping regional social security policies and provides a platform for meaningful exchanges among Asean nations --- an essential step towards building a future wherein the social security system across the region is inclusive and equipped to protect every worker,” Veloso added.
Generating strategies
The event will take place in Manila, chosen for its vibrant culture and conducive environment for fostering dialogue. The Philippine Social Security Association (PhilSSA) is actively coordinating with local authorities to ensure a smooth event for the influx of international delegates.
The three-day conference will feature keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and panel discussions led by Asean leaders and social security experts.
Insights from these discussions aim to generate actionable strategies to strengthen regional cooperation, ultimately reinforcing social security systems and enhancing protections for millions of workers across Asean.
