Insider Spotlight
BWH Hotels has announced an enterprise-wide transformation that will bring more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands in over 100 countries under the WorldHotels masterbrand, supported by a unified loyalty program and expanded digital capabilities.
Stronger brand recognition
The restructuring aims to simplify how travelers navigate the company's portfolio while helping independent hotel operators compete through broader distribution, stronger brand recognition and direct customer relationships.
Individual hotel identities and signage will remain unchanged, allowing properties to retain their local character while benefiting from a shared global platform.
WorldHotels president and CEO Larry Cuculic said the strategy addresses limited consumer awareness of the company's full portfolio.
"We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion, but many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio," Cuculic said in a press statement.
WorldHotels Rewards
The transformation includes WorldHotels Rewards, which will consolidate Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards into one loyalty program covering approximately 70 million existing members.
Scheduled to begin Jan. 5, 2027, the program will introduce three membership tiers while retaining existing benefits, including status matching, member rates and points that never expire.
Members will also retain their existing points value and gain additional opportunities to earn rewards across the portfolio.
Digital infrastructure
WorldHotels is strengthening its digital infrastructure through a new website, redesigned mobile application and proprietary discovery platform developed using more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered from hotel teams worldwide.
The platform is intended to improve hotel discovery, simplify booking and loyalty management, and increase direct-booking opportunities for property owners.
Meanwhile, upscale and luxury properties will be consolidated under WorldHotels Collection, comprising six categories, including WorldHotels Backdrop and WorldHotels Residences.
These categories target different accommodation preferences while giving independent operators access to global distribution and technology.
WorldHotels will announce additional details about its unified loyalty program on Nov. 16, ahead of its January implementation. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
