‘Make it lighter’
TECNO introduced the CAMON SLIM 5G in the Philippines through “The Living Cover Runway,” an event built around its “Make It Lighter” concept. Instead of focusing solely on specifications, the presentation featured 15 women from different professions and stages of life, including entrepreneurs, working mothers, women in technology and community builders.
Among the personalities on the runway were Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena, Max Collins and Megan Young leading the finale. Community advocate and solo mother Twinkle Dimayuga was also featured.
For women on the move
The phone’s AI features are designed around tasks that can easily consume an entrepreneur’s day. One-Tap Ask Screen lets users point the camera at an object and ask the Ella assistant questions, while Ella ScreenSense can recognize onscreen content, explain objects, translate text and help draft captions or replies without requiring users to jump between apps.
Its AI Toolbox brings together features including DeepSeek, meeting and document summaries, conversation translation, image-to-file conversion, AI-generated images and photo-based problem solving.
Daily pressure points
The AI full-link call assistant targets another daily pressure point. AI call noise cancellation reduces background sound, while AI call translation supports two-way multilingual conversations. AI call summary can transcribe conversations and turn key points into to-dos, while AI auto answer can record callers’ intent and screen interruptions.
AI writing adds text generation, proofreading and summarization for emails and social posts. Smart Translate supports selected-text translation across 34 languages and real-time translation of social conversations.
Ultra-slim mobile
Beyond AI, CAMON SLIM 5G pairs a 6.39mm body and 6,000mAh battery with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera. The 8GB+256GB model costs P27,999 online and offline, while the 8GB+128GB version costs P24,999 exclusively through TikTok Shop.
The device comes in burgundy red, matisse black and rebel pink during pre-order, with 3D white available next month. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
