INSIDER VIEW | Digital payments need more than lower fees
Fund transfer fees have become a focal point in the Philippines’ digital payments debate. In 2021, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) imposed a moratorium on fee increases. In June 2026, it lifted that moratorium through BSP Circular No. 1238, which sets rules for how financial institutions price fund transfers.
