The awards underscore the commitment of LGUs and agencies to safeguard government properties through insurance coverage, aligning with GSIS’ mandate under Republic Act No. 656, or the Property Insurance Law.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso emphasized the significance of insuring public assets, saying, “Every insured building, vehicle, or facility helps ensure uninterrupted public service.”
Gold awards were presented to the city governments of Iloilo, Makati, Pasig, and Valenzuela for their outstanding asset protection initiatives. Silver awards were given to notable LGUs including Navotas, Puerto Galera, and Solano, while bronze awards went to 14 LGUs, including Caloocan, Quezon City, and Puerto Princesa.
Special recognitions were also conferred to the Bureau of the Treasury, for spearheading the National Indemnity Insurance Program, and the Department of Education Provident Fund, for providing personal accident insurance to educators and staff.
“This event showcases the spirit of Bagong Pilipinas—prioritizing care, responsibility, and efficiency in public resource management,” Veloso added.
