As vehicles become smarter and more connected, Geely Auto Group returned to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 for the third straight year, highlighting its commitment to making intelligent vehicles more practical and user-friendly for everyday drivers.

Widely seen as a global showcase for the latest technology innovations, CES 2026 became the stage for Geely to introduce two new developments that will shape its future vehicles:

  • -Full-Domain AI 2.0, an upgraded intelligence system that allows different parts of the car to work together more seamlessly
  • -G-ASD (Geely Afari Smart Driving), a new intelligent driving system designed to make driving safer and less stressful

Together, these technologies signal Geely’s push to deliver smarter vehicles that feel more intuitive, responsive, and confidence-boosting in real-world driving situations, the company stressed in a statement.

Unified AI architecture

Full-Domain AI 2.0 represents a major evolution from Geely’s earlier AI systems, which relied on isolated, module-based intelligence. The new architecture brings multiple vehicle domains together under a unified AI framework.

In practice, this allows core vehicle components—including the cockpit, chassis, safety systems, and driving functions—to exchange data and interact with one another in real time.

By integrating computing power, data, and AI models into a centralized system, vehicles can coordinate actions more efficiently, resulting in smoother operation and faster response to changing conditions.

Geely said the unified approach is designed to help vehicles better adapt to road environments, driver behavior, and varied usage scenarios, enabling intelligence that feels seamless rather than fragmented.

Intelligent driving support

Alongside Full-Domain AI 2.0, Geely officially introduced G-ASD, its next-generation intelligent driving system.

Built on advanced AI algorithms, large-scale real-world driving data, and high-performance sensing and computing hardware, Geely said G-ASD is designed to assist drivers in complex traffic conditions.

Rather than positioning automation as a distant or fully autonomous concept, Geely emphasized G-ASD’s role in providing practical, real-world support, it said.

The system aims to reduce driver workload, enhance situational awareness, and improve safety, particularly in demanding environments that require precision and quick decision-making.

According to the company, G-ASD enables vehicles to better understand their surroundings and respond more naturally to real-world scenarios, helping build driver confidence as automation capabilities gradually expand.

“By 2030, cars will evolve into ‘Super Intelligence’ with emotional awareness, proactive service, and continuous evolution.”

Leadership vision ahead

Geely executives framed the new technologies as part of a broader transformation in mobility.

“AI is reshaping the automotive industry in many ways, from powertrains and components to a systematic reconstruction of mobility ecosystems and lifestyles. Geely is committed to creating safe, sustainable, and intelligent mobility for the world,” Jerry Gan, CEO of Geely Auto Group, said in the same statement.

Looking further ahead, Li Chuanhai, vice president of Geely Auto Group and head of Geely Research Institute, said vehicles are expected to undergo profound changes over the next decade.

“By 2030, cars will evolve into ‘Super Intelligence’ with emotional awareness, proactive service, and continuous evolution,” Li said, adding that Full-Domain AI 2.0 and G-ASD represent tangible innovations already being integrated into vehicle cockpits and chassis.

Laying the groundwork

With Full-Domain AI 2.0 and G-ASD, Geely is laying the technical foundation for vehicles that can think, adapt, and assist more holistically.

As expectations around smart mobility continue to rise globally, the company’s strategy centers on making advanced intelligence practical, integrated, and relevant for everyday driving. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
