The newly elected board — sworn into office in Makati City by Information and Communications Technology Sec. Ivan John Uy — outlined key initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s institutional memory, promoting member well-being, and fostering camaraderie.
Acuña emphasized the board’s commitment to revising EJAP’s bylaws, led by Vice President for Internal Affairs Jasper Arcalas (Philippine Star), to allow former presidents to seek reelection and ensure continuity in leadership.
Proposed changes in membership rules will also be up for discussion during two general assemblies this year.
A health initiative was also introduced, providing free HPV vaccinations for both male and female members, along with their immediate family. An online seminar will be conducted before rollout to discuss the vaccine’s effects and restrictions.
To commemorate the organization’s legacy, EJAP’s souvenir program will feature past presidents and their contributions. The year will conclude with a special 40th-anniversary celebration and reunion in November, exclusively for members.
