The partnership combines financial literacy training, faculty development, and industry engagement to promote financial inclusion across educational institutions and underserved communities.
Driving leadership and innovation
BPI president and CEO TG Limcaoco encouraged more than 300 students, faculty members, and university leaders to embrace innovation, continuous learning, and purpose-driven leadership during FEU's Unmasked Talk Series on Sept. 30.
“Leadership begins with aspiration, with setting a goal. Followed by inspiration, which comes when people understand what we are trying to achieve and the role each person plays. And just as important is appreciation. People will not care for a leader unless they know that leader cares for them,” Limcaoco said in a press statement.
Expanding financial education
Through its FinEd Unboxed program, BPI Foundation delivered financial literacy sessions covering savings, debt management, insurance, investments, retirement planning, and fraud prevention.
The initiative also introduced a Train-the-Trainers component, preparing student leaders and volunteer educators to conduct financial wellness sessions in partner communities.
FEU became BPI Foundation's third partner school in 2026 and its 10th since 2025. The foundation is exploring further expansion into FEU Alabang, FEU Diliman, and FEU Pampanga.
BPI Foundation executive director Reginald Andal emphasized that financial inclusion requires empowering individuals with knowledge and confidence.
“Financial inclusion becomes more meaningful when people have the knowledge and confidence to make financial decisions for themselves,” Andal said.
Established on May 6, 2026, the partnership underscores BPI Foundation's strategy of extending financial education beyond classrooms through trained educators and community advocates. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
