Insider Spotlight
The insurer’s latest milestone comes as AIA Philippines and its bancassurance partner, BPI AIA, recorded a combined 458 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifiers in 2026, the highest combined total in the Philippines, while both organizations also secured spots among the Top 100 MDRT companies worldwide, according to the company.
Why it matters
The MDRT is widely regarded as the global benchmark for excellence in financial advisory. Members must meet minimum production standards while demonstrating professional knowledge, ethical conduct, and outstanding customer service, making the recognition a key indicator of advisor quality across the life insurance industry.
“Our people are at the heart of this achievement. Every MDRT qualifier reflects the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning that enable them to better serve our customers,” AIA Philippines chief executive officer Melita Teo said in a press statement.
“We continuously invest in our people through best-in-class training, industry-first tools like AI Roleplay, and other innovations so they can provide trusted guidance that empowers more Filipinos to protect what matters most and live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives,” Teo added.
By the numbers
AIA Philippines contributed 184 MDRT qualifiers, while BPI AIA produced 274, for a combined industry-leading total. AIA Philippines also increased its MDRT qualifiers by 26 percent from the previous year, while BPI AIA retained its position as the country’s leading bancassurance company by MDRT qualifiers.
The bigger picture
The Philippine achievement also reflects AIA Group’s broader regional performance. The company said it was recognized as the No. 1 MDRT multinational company globally for the 12th consecutive year, underscoring its long-term investment in agency recruitment, capability-building, training, and digital tools across Asia.
Looking ahead, AIA Philippines and BPI AIA said they will continue investing in advisor development to better support customers through every stage of life while expanding access to quality financial guidance nationwide. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S.. Narisma
