Insider Spotlight
Through its “Next in Wealth: Unlocked” market outlook series, held in Cebu and Metro Manila in September, the bank brought together experts from Lombard Odier, BlackRock, Fidelity International and ATRAM Group to discuss diversification, income opportunities and portfolio resilience.
Enduring portfolios
The central message was that enduring portfolios should not rely on a single market, asset class or source of returns. Investors were encouraged to balance dividends and growth, diversify income sources and assess opportunities through a long-term framework rather than react to short-term market movements.
UnionBank Wealth also placed healthcare and insurance alongside investment performance, with InLife experts discussing how local and international healthcare coverage can protect accumulated assets and financial continuity when unexpected health costs arise.
Legacy planning
Succession planning was another pillar, extending beyond transferring assets to preparing heirs for financial responsibilities and family stewardship. UnionBank Private NextGen Academy will be relaunched in partnership with the Asian Institute of Management, offering practical insights on leadership, wealth stewardship and legacy planning.
“Clients increasingly need a wealth approach that connects investments, protection and day-to-day financial management rather than treating each need in isolation. When these elements work together, families are better equipped to preserve wealth, adapt to change and prepare future generations for long-term financial stewardship,” UnionBank head of Wealth Management Gauraw Srivastava said in a press statement.
‘Disciplined diversification’
Digital tools including UnionBank Global Transfer and PayDirect were also showcased as ways to simplify everyday financial management across borders and generations.
“Behind every portfolio is a personal story shaped by family, aspirations, responsibilities and the legacy each client hopes to build. Enduring wealth therefore requires more than identifying opportunities. It calls for disciplined diversification, appropriate protection and thoughtful preparation of the next generation,” UnionBank president and CEO Ana Aboitiz Delgado said. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S.
