Insider Spotlight

  • Ticketnet integrates Google Wallet to streamline digital ticket access
  • Move reinforces shift toward phone-first, cashless event experiences
  • Platform positions convenience as a core competitive advantage

Ticketnet is doubling down on tech-driven convenience as it integrates Google Wallet into its ticketing service, allowing moviegoers, concert fans, and sports enthusiasts to store and access tickets directly on their smartphones.

The move underscores how digital tools are reshaping everyday entertainment experiences in the Philippines.

The integration enables users to save tickets with a single tap via an “Add to Google Wallet” button, removing the need for printed stubs or manual searches through email confirmations.

Tickets are stored alongside payment cards, IDs, and passes, creating a centralized and secure mobile hub for event access.

Why it matters

As consumers increasingly expect frictionless, mobile-first transactions, ticketing platforms are under pressure to reduce queues, paper waste, and logistical hassles.

Digital wallet integration responds directly to those demands, turning smartphones into all-in-one entry passes for entertainment and sports venues.

What they’re saying

“We are glad to be one of the first services that will boast of Google Wallet integration,” Irene Jose, COO of Uniprom, said in a press release on Jan. 13, 2026.

“This will mean easier access and more convenient ticketing for our customers. Now, there’s no need for physical tickets, just whip out your phone, have it scanned and you're ready to watch a movie, see your favorite artists perform in a concert, or even cheer for your sports teams!”

Under the hood

The integration taps directly into Google Wallet’s APIs, allowing Ticketnet to issue digital passes that are secure, scannable, and easy to retrieve even without digging through apps or messages.

This reduces entry bottlenecks at venues while improving reliability for both organizers and attendees.

The bigger picture

Ticketnet’s move aligns with global trends where digital wallets are becoming standard companions for live events.

From concerts to cinema screenings, venues worldwide are leaning on wallet-based tickets to speed up entry and minimize operational friction.

What’s next

“We’ve always believed in the power of technology to elevate our entertainment and sporting experiences. This is yet another proof that underscores our commitment to our customers,” Jose said, adding that the company plans to continue rolling out tech-led solutions that simplify everyday experiences.
